Job summary/Role description

QAE verifies and provides for the correct application of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and procedures during the construction phase, reporting and promoting any required corrective actions.

Duties and responsibilities

QAE's main responsibilities are:

  • To assist, when present, QAM in performing periodical Audits on Subcontractors activities;
  • To verify the activities of all discipline supervisors with respect to quality;
  • Inspect and verify installation of mechanical equipment in accordance with applicable project specifications, standards and tolerances;
  • Participate in and verify all necessary testing for mechanical equipment
  • To identify any organizational or procedural defect, analysing critical points, report and arrange any corrective action together with STM and informing Head Office Construction Department Manager and Corporate Quality Manager accordingly;
  • To prepare their own section of Monthly report;
  • Participate in the Project HSE programme.

When QAM is not present, QAE also assumes the below responsibilities:

 

  • To ensure Site Quality Plan and ITP preparation, its adequacy and application at Site, arranging any reviews, if required;
  • To verify NDT, Welding Inspectors and quality control site team activities.
  • To ensure the proper preparation of the test, inspection reports and books.
  • To review Subcontractors' site Quality System, Quality Organization and procedures.
  • To check the flow of information and documents;
  • To identify and report any organizational or procedural defect, analysing critical points, arranging any corrective action together with STM and informing Head Office Construction Department Manager and QAM accordingly;
  • To plan and perform periodical Audit on Subcontractors activities.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Significant experience with mechanical equipment installation and related quality activities

Desirable

Experience

  • Significant experience on a similar position on EPC Petrochemical projects;
  • Similar role covered in last three projects as a minimum;
  • Previous experience in EPC projects - Petrochemicals / Polypropylene PP and High-Density Polyethylene HDPE;
  • Hands-on experience with QA/QC Mechanical inspection and in-depth knowledge of quality systems and international standards.
