Job Description

Provides offshore technical support for all aspects of AUV and Geophysical seismic field operations. Reports technical and operational situations to Party Chief. Provides guidance to on board technical staff regarding technical issues and tasks.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Manages all assigned technical field staff.
  • Communicates with Party Chief regarding all on board operational and technical issues.
  • Coordination of technical crew task assignments and shift schedules.
  • Liaises with on shore support staff for technical support and operational supplies.
  • Follows all written instructions and work procedures.
  • Responsible for geophysical seismic and AUV equipment maintenance.
  • Lead and / or assist to mobilize and demobilize various vessels for survey projects.
  • Provides leadership in adhering to and promoting HSE policies.
  • Drives a company vehicle, as needed, to provide support to field operations
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Initiative (self-starter), requiring little to no direction from leadership
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing diagnostic tools and schematics
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with technical team
  • Have highly developed communications skills, including writing and speaking.
  • Ability to meet necessary requirements to work in local and or international offshore environment.

Education/Certification:

  • Minimum of a 2 year degree in Electronic or Survey discipline.
  • 3 years experience with geophysical AUV / seismic and mechanical survey data acquisition systems; i.e., AUV operations, Sidescan Sonar, Subbottom Profilers, Seismic, Multibeam Echo Sounders and their associated winches and hardware. Must have a general understanding of Computer Systems, electronic hardware and software
