The Production Specialist and Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) role supports unit operations on site.  They act as the production expert and first line of support for their production units and is the primary operations representative who balances the need for maintenance and operational plant requirements to achieve optimum plant availability. They act as the primary interface between Production and Maintenance for their production units.

The Production Specialist and OMC performs daily tasks that support their assigned process units. 

Key accountabilities include operations/maintenance coordination, technical support, operator coaching, day to day process support for assigned units.

o First point of contact for operational unit support during routine running of unit
o Liaises with R&D and product development for plant trials
o Supports development of operator skills and knowledge
o Operations representative for unit MOCs, temporary facilities and new processes.
o Responsible for screening maintenance work requests for correctness, accuracy, pertinent information and justification. 
o Gains clarity on maintenance work requests by making field/site inspections and/or consulting with the requestor as needed.
o Screens requested work to understand if a MOC or temporary facilities is required. 
o Consults with Operations Manager, Maintenance Planner, Supply Chain, HSSE and Technical Disciplines as needed to set Maintenance Priorities.
o Prioritizes work notifications with realistic end dates
o Responsible for communicating planned work schedules to Operations so that the area is prepared and ready when scheduled.
o Supports Operations in preparation of permits, as needed.
o Routinely monitors active maintenance work during the workday in the Department, communicating with supervisor (& others) on the status of these activities.
o Responsible for communicating completed maintenance work to Operations so that the equipment is placed in standby or returned to service.
o Accountable for monitoring the effectiveness of the maintenance execution on assigned units
o Other projects as defined by Manager.

 

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years of site experience
  • Ability to influence, coach and develop individuals without direct authority.
  • Day-to-day problem solving
  • Demonstrates leadership to achieve excellence in HSE, reliability, and cost performance within the unit and the plant.
  • Has broad knowledge of the equipment and operation of the Plant
  • Pays attention to the details of the operation.
  • Has above average knowledge of plant Maintenance Activities.
  • Communicates effectively - written (Daily Guidelines, Weekly Schedules, Recaps etc.) and verbal communications
  • Is aligned with the Department Manager and Department Leadership Team and assures that alignment is maintained in the field.
