Position Description

Saudi Aramco's Unconventional Resources Engineering and Project Management Department is seeking to recruit an Engineering Specialist who will be responsible for the technical input on complex process and mechanical engineering projects. These inputs will impact both current and future operations and maintenance activities within the Unconventional Resources facilities in the different asset areas throughout Saudi Arabia.

The Engineering Specialist will perform studies to determine the economic feasibility of various projects and activities, introduces new technologies, as well as develop and maintain Saudi Aramco's UR Engineering Standards which will help to shape best practice.
Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. A Masters or PhD in Engineering or closely related discipline is highly desirable. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or registration is also preferred.

Candidates will require a minimum of 15+ years of professional experience, including as an engineer in charge of technical work in the areas of process and mechanical engineering field.

Recognized by Engineering Services as an expert in process / mechanical engineering.

Incumbent will normally have achieved industry recognition through activities in professional societies and industrial organizations such as ASME, ASCE, ASTM, API, NACE, SEI and others. He must have published several papers in technical journals.

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must,
Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following duties and responsibilities:-

Continually develop internal best practice in terms of the design of the facilities from the well to the end users.

Provides expert advice and assistance in relation to water management in terms of sourcing, treatment and disposal that meets with Aramco standards and government regulations.

Run economic assessments utilizing NPV, Breakeven in order to enable Aramco to select the best set up of processes and equipment.

Review datasheets of mechanical and process equipment during the design phase to ensure no design faults prior to fabrication.

Deploy new technologies that would support Saudi Aramco to reduce the cost and the schedule of the projects.

Carry out engineering studies which will help to identify potential technical problems and recommend remedies increase revenue, optimize processes, protect the environment, or improve safety.

Develop and maintain Aramco's UR Engineering Standards and Design Best Practices, Design Manuals or other documentation to enhance company profitability, safety and productivity.

Evaluate and introduce best practices and new technologies from all over the world to help the UR achieve Best in Class position in the Unconventional Resources business.
Review and evaluate the capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their suitability to perform services to UR.

Works on or with Task Forces assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific problems.

Performs cost analyses and Value Engineering studies as appropriate.

Undertakes special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.

Conducts seminars in the resolution of technical problems with personnel in other Engineering organizations.

Writes papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects he has overseen.

Acts as a professional mentor to less senior specialists and engineers.

Promotes a learning environment and implements self-development to maintain and improve expert status within process and mechanical engineering specialty.
