** HIGH LEVEL JOB DESCRIPTION/SCOPE:
These individuals will be part of a dynamic team that develops, implements and operates (support) innovative software solutions that integrate, automate or otherwise simplify business processes and workflows. This position requires practical, hands on experience in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (plan, design, develop, test, release, maintain and support, decommission), data engineering/data management practices and tools, strong technical background in one or more development platforms (Microsoft, Linux/Unix, Cloud, Mobile). The successful candidate is result oriented and able to form strong partnership with business and project teams.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Participate in all phases of SDLC.
- Develop software solution leveraging established Chevron technology standards and collaborate with internal partners to develop new technology standards as needs arise.
- Design and develop data engineering, data integration and data management practices and tools
- Maintain working knowledge of the latest software engineering tools and practices for continuous integration, unit tests, static and dynamic profiling, code coverage, code analysis, and automated tests.
- Collaborate with other product teams to develop and share reusable software components and services, implement consistent automated builds and integrated builds, including managing build servers, build schedules, and build qualities
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent
- 4+ years of IT experience in software development and/or solution architecture in a complex business environment
- 2+ years of IT operational experience
** Critical Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated Experience -
Experience in building applications with .Net and/or Java. Self-starter with ability to work independently but in alignment with team goals. Demonstrated experience in critical thinking & problem solving. Experience with developing applications and/or scripting with strong ability to learn application development. Motivation to learn new technologies quickly. Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Experience in a range of version control, continuous integration and build automation tools and approaches.
- Technical Depth -
Strong analytical / problem solving / troubleshooting skills. Understanding of Azure and other Cloud services. Familiar with software development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Prototyping, AGILE/Scrum, etc). Ability to work with multiple teams and influence/drive to deliver results
- Communication & Business Skills –
Self-starter with ability to work independently but in alignment with team goals. Experience managing outsourced vendor support. Results oriented with strong focus on execution. Demonstrated ability communicate written and verbally with both business partners and other IT professionals. Ability to communicate clearly across cultural and geographic boundaries along with at an appropriate level of detail. Strong written and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to complete high quality work on schedule.
