Forecast, maintain, and create plans for proactive and reactive maintenance activities for safe and efficient field execution per the GAME-ME Work Process at Shell Deer Park.



  • Base Activities
    • Proactive and Reactive Maintenance Planning for Metals
    • Planning Backlog Management by Priority and Need Date per GAME-ME
    • Scrutinize Plans for quality such as Functional Location, Basic Start/Finish Date, Work Center, Long Text details (i.e. Safety Precautions, the “How’, etc.), Cost Savings (ex. Scaffold vs. Ladder), etc.
    • Scrutinize the level of detail in the plans and associated work centers to optimize Craft’s time
  • Follow standardize Planning methodology (Planning Guides/Standards)
  • Interfacing with Customers across various organizations (i.e. Technical, MTLs, OMCs, etc.)
  • Reactive Maintenance Planning
    • Review job scope, field visit/walk, plan tasks, order material/services, and set work order to WRTA
    • Requisition materials and services in GSAP for work being planned
    • Create and/or update Task Lists/Library Plans associated with fixed equipment
    • Incorporate Plan Feedback into Task Lists to improve plan for future use
    • Follow the RAP (Requires Additional Planning) Process for discovery work or a planning miss
  • Proactive Maintenance Planning
    • Review existing/auto-generated Maintenance Plans, field visit/walk, adjust plan as necessary, release PMs, and work with Schedulers to ensure they are scheduled in the month they are due
    • Requisition materials and services in GSAP for work being planned
    • Create, update, and/or deactivate Maintenance Plans per the E-30 Process: Preventative Maintenance Deferral and Change Process
    • Steward of the E-30 Process on behalf of the Maintenance department to ensure the process is being adhered to, escalating as needed
    • Incorporate Plan Feedback into Maintenance Plans to improve plan for future use
  • Results to be measured by a Planner Scorecard, to include but not limited to:
    • Backlog (Total, Aging, Other User Statuses)
    • Plan Est/Act Deltas (expectation is to investigate their top 2 LE/Act deltas per month)
    • Throughput (expectation is to set and meet throughput targets by discipline, by quarter)
    • Library Plans (expectation is to create/update/use a library plan for all fixed equipment)
    • Plan Feedback (Nbr of corrections/Total MCMP per mo., based on discipline & area)
  • Behaviors
    • Work with peers, supervision, and across the organization to develop, vet, and implement planning improvements/standards
    • Commit to develop self as a Leader and understand how Planning impacts the Maintenance process and business results
    • Foster a team environment amongst peers in Planning, as well as across the organization


  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • High School Degree.
  • Minimum five (5) Years of Pipefitter Field Maintenance experience.
  • Minimum five (5) Years of Pipefitter Planning experience preferred.
  • Formal Training in Maintenance Planning preferred.
  • Proficient in computer use and knowledge of GSAP and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Materials and services requisitioning experience in GSAP preferred.
  • Receptive to feedback and coaching for developmental purposes (skill set, behaviors, etc.).
  • Awareness of GAME-ME and related work processes.
  • Awareness of PM mandated compliance orders and work processes.
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance delivery roles.
