Control Union Certifications provides third-party assessments against the main social compliance standards such as SA8000, SMETA, ETI, and GRASP, but also against company-specific standards.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a Social Compliance Auditor, you will be working with companies active in consumer markets that identify and manage social compliance risks which have an adverse impact on basic human rights of farmers and workers. Essentially you will deliver audits covering a range of code of conducts and standards within specific supply chains on behalf of organisations and multinational companies.

As a Social Compliance Auditor you will be responsible for:
Carrying out social compliance audits on farms, textile and / or food facilities.
Ensuring customer compliance with established certification standards by visiting our clients on site and examining records, reports, operating practices and documentation.
Communicating audit findings by preparing a final report and discuss the findings with auditees.

This position therefore requires individuals with excellent communication skills who can initiate, conduct and review all relevant audit activities, whilst maintaining and developing client relationships. Being up to date with the latest local and national regulations in connection with your work is critical to the successful delivery of this position.

Requirements


Bachelor degree in the field of agriculture, development, social science or engineering; or equivalent work experience. Candidate must have an affinity with social and environmental sustainability.
2 years of experience in the sustainability and/or environmental industry.
Preferably: IRCA, or equivalent, recognized Lead Auditor training and qualification for ISO 9001 / SA8000
Experience conducting Social Compliance audits would be an advantage
Good command of English (oral and written)
Interviewing and report writing skills
Willingness to travel extensively (domestic and international)
