NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a large operator company, has an opportunity for a  Long Range Mine Scheduler. This role is a contract role based in Calgary Alberta. All candidates MUST be local or have accommodations in the area. (Schedule is Monday-Friday). 

  • Reports to Scheduling Supervisor
  • Develops and manages Mine long range schedules
  • Manages scheduling resource profile including allocation & optimization  
Job function:
  • Communication is key in all aspects of your day
  • Formulate quality schedules for all maintainable assets
  • Create, adjust and update the 28 day, 90 day, the 1& 5 year schedules necessary to manage Kearl maintenance
  • Work closely with Planning, Materials, Execution, Operations, Mine technical targeting fully integrated schedules
  • Resource and capacity level schedules to facilitate resource forecasting
  • Report on annual PM forecasts
  • Assist with requests for correct SAP set-up, KPI's and cost centers
  • Assist in cost and resource analysis
  • Identify, present and realize Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendations to the Cross Functional Asset Level Teams on resource utilization
  • Develop and provide scheduling stewardship as defined by business unit
  • Support a continuous improvement culture and champion Kearl Business Process
  • Conduct cross functional reviews with operations, technical, maintenance, management, planning
  • Educate peers on business process, software, planning and scheduling concepts

Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences:
  • 5 years industry experience - Heavy Equipment Maintenance Planning or Scheduling
  • Technical certification preferred - Heavy Duty, Millwright or Project Management
  • Working knowledge in Scheduling Software (Prometheus/Primavera/Project)
  • Superior working knowledge of SAP in PM module
  • Knowledge of Mine Maintenance processes and oil sands maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with heavy industry planning, scheduling and execution concepts
  • Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability practices
  • Continuous improvement skills and commitment to best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communication and influencing
  • Proven coaching and mentoring techniques
  • Ability & desire to train others
  • Work a Corporate Schedule from Calgary, ability to travel to site approximately 2-5 days per month
  • Occasional site coverage for short range schedulers onsite as required
