Operational Excellence Specialist - Houston, Texas

PRIMARY DUTIES
•Provide advance support and entry level leadership to the Rental (and Manufacturing) Operations focusing on the implementation of Carpenter Operating Mode including but not limit to: a standards rich environment, visual factory, daily management, problem solving supported by leaders standard work, Gemba and continuous improvement thinking.
•Coach and train teams on application of the operating model.
•Train and facilitate solving of simple and complex problems
•Facilitate small Kaizen workshops and continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment
•Perform audits on the health of the Carpenter Operating Model and provide feedback to management, generate reports, and do trend analysis
•Contribute towards the design and development of Lean training materials. Responsible for scheduling training sessions.
•Promote, encourage and actively participate in Lean continuous improvement activities.
•Provide the necessary support to VP - Rental Sales & Operations and other assigned areas in the execution of team objectives
•Travel Expectations: 10% - 25%


REQUIREMENTS
•Four year college degree required. 2+ years of related experience or equivalent as determined by manager. Prior experience with the Toyota Production System is preferred. Ability to travel up to 25% to other AWS locations.
•Working knowledge of LEAN philosophies.

•Working knowledge of various software applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Project.
•Requires excellent project management skills, quantitative and analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and have the ability to resolve conflicts and control emotional situations.
•Ability to structure tasks and manage changing priorities. Ability to use sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action. Ability to work in a production oriented environment. Ability to evaluate and analyze information and provide creative solutions. Ability to work with minimum direction.
