At Eni, we are looking for an Energy Law Manager within Nigerian Agip Exploration Ltd in Abuja, Nigeria. You will be responsible for providing legal assistance, advice and support to NAE and Eni's subsidiaries in Nigeria in both internal and external processes, covering contractual, administrative, judicial and extrajudicial matters, in accordance with applicable laws and the policies, rules and procedures established by the Company.

Main responsibilities:
  • Support company departments with timely advice on all legal matters relating to contracts, licences, commercial agreements, portfolio management activities (e.g. M&A, farm-out/in activities), governance and corporate secretarial matters, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support company departments in attending meetings with third parties and governmental authorities in relation to NAE's activities in Nigeria.
  • Participate in ad hoc working groups with internal and/or external parties.
  • Manage and engage on relevant legal issues with industry stakeholders and partners.
  • Manage legal representation and defence in relation to disputes and litigation, including the management of external legal providers and the assessment of the quality of the contributions received.
  • Liaise with external legal providers appointed by NAE and Eni's subsidiaries in Nigeria and/or in relation to NAE's activities in Nigeria.
  • Regularly liaise with the Eni Legal Department, ensuring the prompt reporting of all relevant legal issues.

Skills and experience required:
  • Law degree from a top Nigerian university.
  • Registration with the Nigerian Bar Association.
  • Previous experience in similar managerial roles, either in-house or in private practice.
