Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Process Engineer to act as a technical authority within the process discipline for major offshore oil & gas EPC projects.
The role involves leading process engineering activities, reviewing and approving key technical documents, developing execution strategies, and ensuring effective interface management. The candidate will be responsible for identifying project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures while ensuring compliance with international standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate and coordinate with international clients on process design schemes and resolve discipline-related issues
- Coordinate with clients to address technical comments and ensure timely close-out
- Review technical tender documents, provide clarifications, and support bid evaluation activities
- Develop process discipline strategies, execution plans, and engineering solutions
- Identify potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Provide regular technical training and guidance (minimum 10 sessions / 40 hours annually)
- Support interface management across engineering disciplines
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the client or project management
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical / Process preferred)
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in process design for offshore fixed platforms or floating oil & gas production facilities
- At least 5 years of experience in a Lead / Principal role on Middle East offshore projects
- Experience with internationally renowned EPC companies such as Technip, Worley, Wood, Fluor, McDermott is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of oil & gas field development and offshore engineering processes
- Familiarity with international standards including API, ASME, SHELL, QatarEnergy, Saudi Aramco standards
- Experience in international project execution systems and client engineering practices
Technical & Behavioral Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with experience in workshop coordination and close-out actions
- Proficiency in process engineering software: AutoCAD, HYSYS, FLARENET, PHAST, FLARESIM
- Good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of process dynamic simulation is an advantage
- Strong sense of responsibility, detail-oriented, and disciplined work approach
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including offshore assignments
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
