Job Duties:

Under direct supervision, perform assigned tasks within the chemical hygiene plan and current HSE laboratory safety standards. Follow established safety rules and regulations when performing assigned tasks. Perform tasks to conduct routine laboratory tests according to procedures or that require the selection of test equipment/instrumentation procedures. May also build prototypes, models, and special equipment and/or perform basic materials or environmental testing using basic techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment, including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and data collection. Operates laboratory equipment or other equipment such as pumps and drilling rigs, as needed to perform assigned tasks. Documents test data for reporting purposes. Maintains files and documentation related to test equipment and equipment test results. Job tasks, when performed correctly, indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations. The consequences of errors are easily measurable and can be limited. Technical or technological training and 2 years of related experience in laboratory testing.

  • Technician or Technologist in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Petroleum Technology, Industrial Chemical Processes, or related careers.
  • Perform chemical and physicochemical tests, analyses and characterizations on drilling fluids, completion fluids and their additives, ensuring reliable results that support operational decision-making and compliance with quality, safety and sustainability standards of the Baroid laboratory.
  • Experience: Preferably with 2 years of experience in chemical or fluid laboratories, preferably in the oil sector or services to the oil and gas industry.
  • Mode: In-person
  • Length of commitment: 1 year
  • Work schedule and shift: Day shift
  • Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 3:30 pm (subject to adjustments due to operations).
