Electrical Engineer - Milan, Italy (On-site)

If you're an Electrical Engineer with experience in oil & gas facilities and enjoy working across the full lifecycle of projects, this could be a great opportunity to get involved in technically complex and large-scale work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reviewing electrical power distribution systems (LV, MV, HV) for oil & gas installations

  • Reviewing SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, grounding and lighting layouts

  • Approving electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, batteries and motors

  • Carrying out electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash and protection coordination

  • Reviewing vendor documents, technical specifications, MRs and TBEs

  • Working closely with engineering, procurement and construction teams

  • Supporting installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems

  • Taking part in FATs and SATs

  • Troubleshooting issues during installation and commissioning

  • Supporting operations teams with maintenance and system troubleshooting

  • Reviewing condition monitoring data and supporting root cause analysis of electrical failures

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in electrical engineering within oil & gas environments (onshore or offshore)

  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and classifications

  • Experience using electrical modelling tools such as ETAP, SKM or DigSILENT

  • Understanding of electrical protection systems, earthing, lighting and lightning protection

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering within the energy or oil & gas sector

  • Strong spoken and written English, including technical report writing
