Produces designs and detailed drawings for new components and modification to existing parts in conjunction with engineers to satisfy customer design requirements. He/she creates bills of material, engineering change notices and other documents as required.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

 

  • Model design concepts using 3D software
  • Create Layout & Installation drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Produce detailed/fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare ECN, bills of material, and assembly drawings.
  • Create sketches, views, or reports for bulletins and other technical documents.
  • Assess designs to ensure that they are cost-effective, reliable, high-quality, and manufacturable.
  • Determine the most appropriate manufacturing technologies for both new and existing designs by analyzing industry best practices.
  • Identify development opportunities and provide technical support for manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Formulate specifications and procedures for the manufacture, inspection, and assembly of the product.
  • Provide technical support to Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.
  • Contribute to the investigation, resolution, and documentation of Quality cases.
  • Travel and Provide field support related to installations, modifications, or quality-related investigations.
  • Interface with vendors and provide technical support.
  • Participate in company safety meetings and safety awareness.
  • The employee is responsible for performing duties in accordance with the company's policies, procedures, and quality objectives.
  • The employee has the necessary authority to make decisions within their scope of work and escalate issues as needed and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • The employee is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of their work, as well as for reporting any nonconformities or risks that may impact quality, legal compliances, safety, environment, or customer satisfaction.
  • Support and participate on achieving organizational QHSE objectives.

Minimum Qualifications / SKILLS

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 15 years of design and drafting experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Associate degree (or Equiv.) in engineering is preferred

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, comprehend and write in English.
  • Ability to effectively present technical information, to colleagues, customers and vendors.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor)
  • Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM)
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Background in oil & gas, heavy equipment, or drilling systems
  • Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical systems
  • Proven ability to lead design projects and mentor junior designers
