JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs assessment on various commercial and military aerospace turbine components received for inspection by following written procedures, documents (blueprints, drawings, and specifications), and established practices
  • Performs visual inspections as required
  • Performs First Article Inspection Report inspections and maintains documentation
  • Interfaces with engineering and order execution regarding recommendations for work instruction and router improvements
  • Generates NCRs in quality management system
  • Reviews job paperwork through entire inspection process to ensure completeness and conformity
  • Utilizes precision measuring equipment as required for incoming assessment
  • Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Follows Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Complete specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria
  • Must complete EHS-assigned regulatory training for work area as described by the EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and timekeeping applications
  • Must be detail-oriented
Physical Requirements
  • Stooping/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another
  • Pushing & Pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes
  • The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
  • May require travel (air & ground) with short notice
  • Being able to wear required PPEs for specific tasks performed, such as respirators, Tyvek suit, gloves, face shield, etc.
  • Ability to cooperate and work with people
