JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs assessment on various commercial and military aerospace turbine components received for inspection by following written procedures, documents (blueprints, drawings, and specifications), and established practices
- Performs visual inspections as required
- Performs First Article Inspection Report inspections and maintains documentation
- Interfaces with engineering and order execution regarding recommendations for work instruction and router improvements
- Generates NCRs in quality management system
- Reviews job paperwork through entire inspection process to ensure completeness and conformity
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment as required for incoming assessment
- Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
- Follows Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Complete specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria
- Must complete EHS-assigned regulatory training for work area as described by the EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience- 5+ years of inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions
- Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and timekeeping applications
- Must be detail-oriented
Physical Requirements- Stooping/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
- Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
- Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another
- Pushing & Pulling
- Lifting up to 50 lbs: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes
- The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level
- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
- May require travel (air & ground) with short notice
- Being able to wear required PPEs for specific tasks performed, such as respirators, Tyvek suit, gloves, face shield, etc.
