Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to support our supply chain function for drilling operations in Nigeria. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management, this pivotal role will guide procurement, category management, vendor relationships, and supply chain strategies to ensure seamless drilling operations. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in the oil and gas industry, demonstrate exceptional leadership, and possess a comprehensive understanding of Nigerian content requirements and cost-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
This include, but not limited to:
- Lead and manage a team of Senior Supply Chain Officers, Supply Chain Officers, and others, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Support development and execute strategic sourcing plans for OCTGs, Wellheads, Christmas Trees, accessories, drilling fluids, chemicals, and other drilling-related materials and services.
- Oversee tendering processes, evaluating proposals, and preparing recommendations for the Contracts Board.
- Manage category strategies, framework agreements, and contract lifecycle (pre and post-award stages).
- Lead vendor and supplier management, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and value delivery.
- Drive supply chain strategic initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Oversee procurement activities for strategic, tactical, and operational items necessary for well drilling operations.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian Content policies and develop initiatives to maximize local content participation.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives, develop budgets, and monitor procurement efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational needs.
- Foster strong business partnerships across departments and with external vendors.
- Support internship and youth engagement programs, including managing industrial attachments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of industry experience supporting drilling operations in the oil and gas sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, or a related field.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification is mandatory.
- MBA or advanced business qualification is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, tendering, and contract management within oil and gas drilling.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian Content regulations and local content development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
