At Eni, we are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor (Instrumentation) within the Zubair Field Operating Division (Zubair Mishrif Expansion) in Basra, Iraq. You will plan and schedule all Public Address-General Alarm (PA-GA) and ICSS internal data transmission network and maintenance activities according to the maintenance policy/program and the availability of spare parts, materials, equipment and tools, to minimize equipment downtime, reduce disruption to production operations and ensure the safe operability of the plant. You will also review maintenance specifications based on internal and international standards, best practices, legislative and statutory acts of the Republic of Iraq, and internal policies and regulations of ZFOD.

Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:
  • Analyses approved PA-GA systems and Instrument data transmission network work requests and defines the work to be executed accordingly.
  • Establishes the necessary resources to execute each task (manpower, materials, tools, contractors, etc.).
  • Checks the availability of materials concerning the established work dates.
  • Executes the weekly work scheduling and distribution to the concerned units.
  • Carries out, independently or with the support of contractors, the work to check and eliminate faults in ICSS data transmission networks, public address systems including loudspeaker networks, beacons, microphones, structured cabling systems, fibre-optics, and data network equipment such as, but not limited to, fibre-optic cables, fibre-optic patch panels, routers and network switches.
  • Supervises and coordinates contractors' activities and analyses work feedback to improve maintenance plans, efficiency and processes.
  • Possesses knowledge of international standards applied to the oil industry concerning Telecom Network and PA-GA systems.
  • Evaluates technical offers for either services or materials.
  • Ensures that the internal and contractors' equipment and tools are adequate, suitable and kept in working order.
  • Demonstrates personal engagement in the HSE domain by respecting policies and recommendations of Eni and ZFOD rules and standards, and attend both mandatory and optional training as required.

Skills and experience required:
  • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Technical diploma in Electronics, Telecom or Automation.
  • Significant experience in Instrument, Telecom and PA-GA system installation and maintenance.
  • Maintenance management.
  • Principles, operation, and maintenance of data transmission network systems, Public Address - General Alarm (PA-GA) systems, and automatic control systems.
  • Typology of data transmission systems.
  • Operating characteristics, design features, purpose, and operating conditions of data transmission networks and PA-GA systems equipment, and their operational procedures.
  • Explosion-proof equipment requirements.
  • International standards and best practices for the use and development of PA-GA and network data transmission systems.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with SAP system or similar applications for CMMS.
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, flexibility, and innovation, with a commitment to excellence. Effective communication skills, active listening and reception, negotiation capabilities, and adeptness in managing relationships.
