Position Summary

The primary focus of this role is to lead, manage and coordinate a light well intervention (LWI) campaign in Azerbaijan to lead and manage the OPG project team to safely deliver the offshore execution program in line with the requirements in the Contract, developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with key stakeholders including, the operator, and vessel providers, LWI sub-contractors and other as applicable to support the Operator's project manager in the safe delivery of the work program the agreed commercial outcome, work with the OPG LWI Engineering team and other relevant functional leaders to develop the OPG staff capability within the OPG project team.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Ensure that the OPG and the operator Project HSE safety policies and procedures are fully understood and effectively implemented by the onshore and offshore execution teams.
  • Conduct regular visits to onshore and offshore worksites, and provide direction, coaching and feedback to the OPG team
  • Leadership
  • Provide guidance and support to the OPG Project team to ensure the project HSE, quality, technical, and financial, requirements defined in the Contract are achieved
  • Effective communication and presentation of project summary to ELT and/ or Senior leadership as required
  • Preparatory Work
  • Develop a PEP for the full work program, together with a view on resources
  • Work with the Operator wells team to develop a clear view of the interfaces between the Operator , the vessel operator, and any sub-contractors
    Scope Management
    Utilising the core OPG Project management processes to ensure delivery of HSE, technical and quality standards in line with the operator contract requirements.
  • Act as the integrator and owner of the LWI project, developing, implementing and maintaining systems to track and actively manage the equipment, documentation and personnel required to safely execute the work offshore.
  • To implement an effective project planning and progress measurement system, and an effective project reporting system
  • Support, direct and coordinate the engineering, supply chain and other functional personnel who are accountable for the execution of each element of the work, in support of the work program
  • Accountable for the detailed LWI campaign readiness to execute, and confirmation that the execution procedures, drawings, readiness reviews, SIMOPS reviews and permits are in place and agreed with the operator in a timeframe which supports the offshore execution program.
    coordinate the efforts of the Service Excellence personnel in the verification of system readiness, configurations, specifications, and certifications.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day management and the safe execution of the operator work program


Cost and Commercial

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the OPG/operator contracts, the OPG and Operator obligations and deliverables, and work closely with wider OPG team to ensure that all project objectives, schedule, deliverables, and milestones are met.
  • Proactive identification and communication within the project team of technical and/or vessel execution issues which may have a cost or schedule impact.
  • Responsible for the LWI Campaign budget and spend, cash position and receivables, and the provision of accurate data which to allow accurate forecasting and reporting in line with the Operator and Oceaneering requirements, including the preparation of project reports, forecasts, variance explanations and other financial or technical reports as required by the OPG management team, the operator and/or other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the generation of requisitions and review/approve requisite supplier invoices which relate to offshore operations.
    Review and approve project invoices and assist in resolving accounts receivable issues with the operator.


Team Maintenance and Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the operator - Project team which is capable of safely executing the work to the necessary standards, to accomplish the agreed business objectives and adjusting the team as needs change.
  • Engage with Senior Manager/Director and the Resource Managers (Engineering, Service Excellence, SCM, HSEQ, Finance) to forecast resource demand and ensure the project is adequately resourced through the project lifecycle.

This position has supervisory responsibilities in projects.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to Project Manager
Follows direction and guidance to Senior Project Manager who manages Service Line

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Degree qualified : BSc in Engineering
  • A working knowledge of well intervention and well services
  • Awareness of vessel-based operations and assurance activities
  • A working knowledge of project planning principles and software
  • A working knowledge of budget control systems, and cost estimating, benchmarking and forecasting
  • A detailed understanding of light well interventions techniques and methodology
  • An understanding of Commercial contracts and sub-contracts
  • An understanding of risk and MoC processes and their application, awareness of cost and schedule risk analysis


DESIRED

  • PMP Certification or equivalent.
  • MSc in Engineering and/or Business Management


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • A minimum of 15 years' industry experience
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering large and complex integrated projects in remote locations.
  • Proven experience in managing client relationships throughout lifecycle of projects
  • A proven capability of providing clear and concise information that will assist PM decision making.
  • Strong written and interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others in a collaborative and non-confrontational manner.
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience of working within multicultural teams and in the coaching and development of staff
