About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to be an integral part of our high-performing manufacturing team dedicated to ensuring delivery of robust products via application of the APQP process and internally developed Quality standards. Based at our Columbus Facility in Ohio, you will be a key contributor working with highly motivated and skilled operators, welders and managers to continuously improve upon a one-of-a-kind product.  If you thrive on understanding how things work, troubleshooting unique problems and working in a high energy environment, we want you to be a part of our team.
A day in the life
As our Quality Engineer, you could:
 
  • Manage all Quality Control documentation, including control plans, work instructions and calibration records
  • Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Be the lead operator on an integral custom and complex test system
  • Assist with incoming, in-line and finished goods inspections where necessary
  • Carry out data analyses for lot acceptance, statistical process control (SPC) and troubleshooting
  • Continuously develop our digital manufacturing process control system
  • Be responsible for maintaining good operation of all testing and inspection equipment
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to create safe and effective work procedures
  • Grow into a supervisory role, overseeing 1-2 quality technicians.

About You
  • You have 3+ years of Quality Control experience within a commercial, corporate environment.  A Bachelor of Science degree and CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification is preferred.
  • You have experience with gauges such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and dial indicators.  You also have experience with compressed gases.
  • You understand GD&T, can read and interpret 2D drawings, and can apply measurement techniques appropriately.
  • You are a problem-solver with good communication skills, both oral and written.  You work well with others and are effective at providing guidance.
  • You are process oriented. You're able to implement and follow policies and procedures effectively.
  • You are data and tech-savvy. You're confident with using Microsoft Office 365 products and quick to learn new data systems. Familiarity with eFlex/Epicor CPC is a bonus.
  • Your attention to detail is excellent, and you take great pride in completing tasks successfully.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work best when having deadlines to meet.
