Job Duties and Qualifications- Under general supervision, builds customer satisfaction by providing service and on-site support for the application of downstream chemical products.
- Ensures area revenue and profitability in assigned accounts while assisting in the development and implementation of sales plans for prospective customers.
- Effectively communicates to all levels of customer management a thorough understanding of downstream related business and operational issues and how to overcome them through mechanical, operational, and chemical means to better position the customer to reach their commercial objectives.
- Focused on customer retention in part by forging collaborative and indelible relationships with associates and customers in a professional manner through effective business calls, team building exercises, and entertainment opportunities.
- Participates in business reviews and pricing negotiations to document value in clear, customer accepted financial terms.
- In coordination with regional and corporate accounts management, utilizes the tenets of the Business Acquisition Process to effectively target and capture competitively held opportunities.
- Actively engaged in growing professional and technical knowledge pertaining to downstream processes and chemical applications through continuing education and industry associations.
- When necessary, performs the functions of Downstream Sales Representative II.
Requirements- Completion of an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, or Environmental Science degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in downstream refinery, chemical, or NH3/fertilizer facilities.
- Experience within petrochemical or refinery atmosphere is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for entry into downstream chemical facilities.
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Senior Downstream Site Service Representative or Principal Downstream Site Service Representative.
