Job Posting Title: Junior Facilities Engineer
Description: The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of engineering activities to support projects across Gulf of Mexico assets. This role will also be accountable for the successful, development, and execution of projects to support the efficient production of oil and gas, following company and industry standards. The
Engineer should have knowledge of the design and operation of all topsides equipment (reciprocating, rotating, fired, static, vessels, etc.) as well as a working knowledge of piping systems, utility systems, and general process design.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Providing input into relevant technical sections of the documents including Project Execution Plans, Basis of Design, Asset Reference Plans etc.
- Coordination of engineering efforts, including supervision of 3rd Party engineering contractor
- Preparation of accurate cost and schedule estimates in conjunction with required stakeholders
- Adherence to the management of change process
- Serve as the project support on large and complex projects as well as operation support scopes.
- Developing Brownfield and Greenfield engineering concepts and designs including preliminary equipment layouts and sizing
- Work within a team to optimize the project design and overseeing the design work of engineering contractors.
- Communicate with external and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Support project teams with the development of safe, efficient, and reliable equipment designs by assisting with specification development, supplier selection, bid evaluation, vendor submittal reviews, manufacturing oversight and deliverable reviews.
- Support project teams on major equipment orders by participating in inspection planning, kick off meetings, and shop and field FAT witness.
- Participate in risk assessment studies related to equipment systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and startup of new equipment.
- Advise Project Teams in the development of recommended spare parts purchases for new projects.
- Support field personnel in identifying and resolving equipment problems.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Chemical).
- Knowledge of oil and gas production processes.
- Knowledge of industry standards related to offshore production equipment.
- Knowledge of API RP 14C.
- Collaborator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and work multiple projects concurrently.
- Project experience during the design, construction, commissioning, and startup phases of a brownfield or greenfield expansion projects.
- 1 - 5 years working experience with 1 - 2 years of offshore oil and gas experience preferred
