Position Specific DescriptionThis role is directly responsible for leading the shift Operations teams through training and coaching to operate and maintain a three-on-one combined cycle power plant safely and reliably while developing and maintaining a highly engaged workforce.
Employees in this role lead a team of Technicians who work a 24-hour rotating shift schedule. Their team is responsible for the assessment, management, and planning of activities to ensure all plant equipment is operational and available to support production requirements. Team responsibilities include daily operations, plant and process improvements, equipment repairs, plant breakdown response and analysis, and recommending corrective actions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Ensures compliance to all Power Generation Division (PGD) operational model processes
- Leads by example and emulates the PGD shared values
- Provides oversight to production teams in daily operations, preventive maintenance, and reliability checks
- Coaches employees in safe work practices, craft skills, productivity, and training
- Develops and refines operations procedures, processes, and overhaul start up and shutdown
- Ensures that all production activities are completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and consistent with PGD policies, procedures, and practices
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge and understanding of advanced power plant operations
- Previous experience leading a power plant operations or maintenance team
- Previous experience planning, scheduling, and delegating complex tasks
- Previous experience with a daily work management program and prioritizing equipment risks
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating planned and unplanned work scopes
- Previous experience with Capital and O&M budgets
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Demonstrated experience of leading through change
