We are recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor for an ongoing contract role.
This is an onshore role with regular offshore visits.
Executes the following functions.
• Providing proactive and effective EH&S guidance, support, and positive challenge to all areas of our operations.
• Proactively support implementation of Process Safety Management system within onshore and offshore organisation.
• Actively facilitates enhanced collaboration and interaction between onshore EH&S and other departments, including operational assets.
• Assists with Contractor management / onboarding, ensuring key EHS criteria are assessed during selection and support ongoing monitoring and auditing of key contractors.
• Assists in development, and successful delivery, of proactive EH&S improvement and internal/external audit plans which seek to drive performance improvements, ensuring key responsibilities are identified, communicated, and measured.
• Ensures compliance with legislation, policies, guidance, and industry best practices through monitoring of developments and sharing of requirements amongst the wider organisations.
• Ensures the effectiveness of the company Management System.
• Supports Corporate strategic objectives and rollout of documents across companies North Sea organisation.
• Responsible for providing health & safety expertise to key business processes e.g. risk assessments, auditing.
• Supporting EHS incident investigations, identifying key themes from investigations and communicating the lessons learned.
• Monitors the actions arising from various EH&S and Assurance activities and ensures timely close-out of the actions.
• Supports regular reviews of the incident investigations and assurance activities
• Provide assistance / coaching to offshore personnel with respect to audit and assurance requirements.
• Provides cover for asset Health & Safety Advisors (if required) to support day to day operations for offshore assets.
Key Interfaces
• Proactively facilitates enhanced collaboration and interaction between onshore EH&S and all other departments, including operational assets.
• Interface with core contractors to ensure that company EH&S Expectations are understood and adhered to
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
• Candidates must be qualified to Degree Level or equivalent
• Current Membership of a professional body (e.g. IOSH, IIRSM)
• Extensive health and safety experience in supporting operations in the UKCS including demonstrable working knowledge of process safety
• HSE auditing or inspection experience
• Experience of working under ISO Standards, including development of management systems
• Excellent working knowledge of UK offshore HSE legislation
• Experience with SeQual is preferred but not essential
• Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification required as the role will include regular offshore trips
• Strong team player who is also capable of producing quality work on an individual basis. Excellent communication, organisational and facilitation skills
