Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking a Carbonate Sedimentologist to join the Northern Area & Offshore Division of Gas Reservoir Characterization Department.

The Northern Area & Offshore Division is responsible for providing core characterization, thin-section petrography, sequence stratigraphy, log integration and mapping. This job necessitates the ability to conduct detailed sedimentological studies based on core characterization, petrography, diagenesis, and integration of wireline logs and to establish detailed sequence stratigraphic and depositional environment models and maps for carbonate gas reservoirs. The job includes the integration of all available data (wireline logs, core data, SEM, XRD, chemostratigraphy, isotopes, biostratigraphy, etc.) to provide analysis of well data in terms of sedimentary architecture, facies and depositional environment to be ready as inputs to the 3D reservoir characterization models.

The Carbonate sedimentologist primary role is to characterize cores, describe stained thin sections, interpret and map depositional facies, build depositional models, interpret sequence stratigraphic parameters, construct integrated cross sections, identify and map diagenetic parameters, build diagenetic models and interpret and integrate all associated geochemical analyses and assist the impact of each discipline on reservoir quality. Strong interpersonal skills are desirable because interdisciplinary collaboration is required, which will necessitate close collaboration with operations-oriented geoscientists as well as petrophysicists, modelers, biostratigraphers, structural geologists, and reservoir and drilling engineers. An ability to share knowledge through publications and a willingness to coach co-workers and mentor young professionals are expected.

Duties & Responsibilities
