Where you fit The candidate will be part of the Novel Materials synthesis team and will contribute to developing novel materials/catalysts for different application areas. The candidate will be involved in synthesis and characterization of materials/catalysts via routine and novel routes.
Projects will involve collaboration with local and global stakeholders in developing materials for application areas as diverse from core application areas (hydrotreating) to new energy (electro catalysts, hydrogen storage materials, etc).
What's the role?The main responsibilities and required skills for this position are:
- Able to understand project objective and executes experimental DOEs independently or in cooperation with activity lead.
- Applies proven understanding of the assigned part of the technical support and systems, as well as interfaces with related areas, so as to provide technical support in handling specific queries, data verification and also assisting in information gathering.
- Experience in routine and non-routine synthesis and characterization of inorganic/catalytic materials. Synthesis of materials/catalysts via different synthesis protocols (precipitation, impregnation, nanoparticle synthesis, etc) and shaping of materials via mulling-extrusion, spheronizer, etc.
- Good data analysis and recording with minimal supervision. Document technical findings and present results to internal team members in the form of written reports and presentations.
- Supports internal stakeholders with specific information and/or query resolution.
- Has good safety skills including MSDS awareness, chemical storage, waste disposal, proper handling of toxic or hazardous materials and familiarity with safe laboratory operating principles.
- The candidate will also be responsible for ownership, safe handling and maintenance of equipment in the synthesis lab. Prepare and review, standard operating procedures, MOCs, etc.
What we need from youMinimum Maters degree in chemistry/ inorganic/materials/polymer chemistry with at least 1-3 years synthesis experience in an industrial environment.
