Wood is recruiting for a Rotating Control System Specialist to join our team based in Darwin.
Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas Industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
As a Rotating Control System Specialist, you will be reporting directly to the Regional Engineering Manager for Wood while supporting one of our key clients on location, across FEED to EPCM delivery. Your role will include but not limited to:
- Understanding and developing Engineering documents such as Cause & Effect Diagrams
- Maintaining integrity of Engineering documentation through the As Building process
- Working as a close liaison with Engineering teams - including daily meetings and providing a seamless interface with Construction and Commissioning teams
- Assisting with Installation and Commissioning - including Loop Checking, Functional Testing, Software and Logic upgrades / modifications
- Implementing Maintenance Work Instructions and carrying out Root Cause Analysis

Skills / Qualifications
Ideally you will be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and be able to work lawfully in Australia. Sponsorship may also be considered for this role.
You must currently reside in the Northern Territory or be willing to relocate to the Northern Territory, to be considered for this opportunity.
You will be a Rotating Control System Specialist with a minimum of Diploma level qualification in Electric Control Systems from a recognised technical institution and supported by 20+ years of Instrument and Control Systems experience within the Oil & Gas brownfields EPC industry in Australia.
What will set you apart will be your relevant expertise in Rotating Equipment technology and proven experience with GE Frame 5 & Frame 7 Turbines and MKVI control systems.
In addition, you will have:
- In-depth technical knowledge of Rotating Equipment - design and operation
- Knowledge of Yokogawa Control Systems, HIMA Safety Systems, and Bentley Nevada Condition Monitoring equipment
- Familiarity with Alarm Suppression systems for GE F7 and F6 Turbines
- Exceptional client facing skills with proven experience in client facing roles and / or within the client environment, on an Onshore O&G facility
- Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated experience working as an interface between Engineering, Construction and Commissioning teams
- Proven experience in carrying out Commissioning activities such as Loop Checking, Functional Testing, Software and Logic upgrades/modifications
