The Lead Materials Science Engineer will provide guidance, and support on topics associated with NDE, Welding, Metallurgy, and Fabrication processes within the MPE team and wider engineering community.
You will Develop and update engineering guidelines, specifications and best practices within NDE, Welding, Metallurgy and Fabrication processes, and support in aligning such processes within the Global Subsea Production Systems and Services MPE team
The Lead Materials Science Engineer will execute all Materials & Process Engineering tasks with efficiency and integrity. Tasks include but are not limited to:

You will Develop and update engineering guidelines, specifications and best practices within NDE, Welding, Metallurgy and Fabrication processes, and support in aligning such processes within the Global Subsea Production Systems and Services MPE team
The Lead Materials Science Engineer will execute all Materials & Process Engineering tasks with efficiency and integrity. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and performing technical evaluations of contract requirements, design codes, manufacturing standards and specifications
- Writing technical clarifications/exceptions and attend meetings on materials selection and manufacturing with customers
- Defining BH/Contract requirements - writing of technical reports and specifications
- Providing materials selection and fabrication advice during design phase, and providing support to supply chain, attendance at audits and pre-production meetings
- Reviewing of vendors' special process procedures, e.g. NDE and welding procedure specifications, for use in the manufacturing of subsea equipment
- Ensuring compliance initiatives are implemented and training requirements are met

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a relevant qualification in materials science or established industrial experience
- Possess an understanding within NDE, Welding and metallurgy and fabrication processes such as forming, forging, heat treatment etc
- Have a willingness and ability to travel, as required
