Shell Asset Management Company B.V. (SAMCo) in the Hague is the dedicated in-house asset manager for the Royal Dutch Shell plc group sponsored pension funds and insurance companies and currently manages around USD 80 billion of assets for its clients. SAMCo is supervised by the Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). The company is internationally oriented with clients in 10 different countries and approximately 175 employees. SAMCo's objective is to provide high quality and cost-effective investment advice and asset management services to its clients. On behalf of its clients, SAMCo invests in fixed income, equities, and alternative investment categories such as private equity funds and other investment funds, all over the world. Specific parts of the activities are also outsourced to external managers. We are currently looking to recruit a Client Reporting Analyst to join the Reporting team in the Controllers department. The Client Reporting Analyst will report to the Team lead Client Reporting as one of three analysts and will primarily focus on supporting the overall client reporting production.
The team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate quarterly reports, dashboards and slides to internal and external clients and improving these in line with industry developments and client requirements. Additionally, the team has to deal with ad-hoc requests from trustees, Shell finance- and front office colleagues on client performance and risk. Furthermore, the team is driving the BI agenda by developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards for SAMCo and their clients.

What's the role?
We'll entrust you to:
- Support the overall client reporting production
- Seek opportunities to simplify and standardize the reporting process and systems whilst maintaining and improving reporting excellence
- Support the Client Focal Points in following up (detailed) questions from clients on reporting issues
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the investment performance and risk data as captured in the various databases and platforms in order to ensure correct reporting following any fund transition activities
- Coordinate and participate in the making of monthly and quarterly reports for the mandates and reports for external data collectors
- Provide insightful analysis to support the Trustees and SAMCo in decision making
- Maintain vibrant dialogue with the front office portfolio managers on the analyst's areas of responsibility
- Develop productive relationships with key stakeholders, to deepen the understanding of information
- Support the ESG agenda of SAMCo
What we need from you
Required knowledge and skills:
- Academic background; given the breadth of the work a large variety in background is possible from finance, economics to IT
- Proven relevant working experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
- Proven understanding of database structures
- Preferable experience with Power BI
- Ability to work comfortably with deadlines and fixed milestones
- Self-starting, self-motivated, pro-active attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work accurately
- Effective at building relationships and engaging with external parties
- Team player
- Good verbal and written communications skills in English
