Civil Designer to join our Power Solutions. Reporting to the CSA Department Manager, this position can be based in either Vancouver or Calgary. This role has responsibilities for assisting with the civil design on projects primarily in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry. Key Responsibilities - Layout, design and specification for civil systems for industrial plants and their related infrastructure
- Providing civil design and drafting support for industrial facilities and services
- Preparing drawings for site development, buried and overland piping and earthworks including general grading, ponds, roads, and rail spurs using Civil 3D & AutoCAD
- Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications
- Coordinating and working with project team members
- Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures
- Maintain accurate design files for reference purposes
Skills / Qualifications - Civil engineering technician / technology diploma from a recognized institution
- 6+ years of relevant design experience for industrial plants
- Experience using AutoCAD & Civil 3D
- Experience using MicroStation is considered a plus
- Drafting and design experience within a consulting engineering environment
- Distribution experience is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
