Overview / Responsibilities Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for
Civil Engineer to join our
Power Solutions group. Reporting to the CSA Department Manager, this position can be based in either Vancouver or Calgary. This role provides civil engineering design on projects primarily in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry.

Key Responsibilities - Providing civil engineering design and technical support for the construction and modification of Transmission and Distribution systems
- Preparing proposals, study reports, engineering specifications, and contract documents
- Leading and mentoring junior staff
- Reviewing project documents and drawings for technical quality and accuracy
- Managing multiple tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Utilizing expertise of general civil designs and acting as a resource for industry codes, standards, and construction methods
- Establishing good working relationships and communication with discipline leads, project managers and clients
Skills / Qualifications - Graduate or Undergraduate engineering degree coupled with eligibility to register with EGBC
- 6+ years of industrial experience in projects of varying stages from conceptual to detailed design
- Piping (both gravity and pressure), storm water drainage, access roads and earthworks design experience
- Capable of developing creative yet practical concepts.
- Distribution experience is an asset
- Experience in writing technical reports
- A willingness to travel to remote field locations on a short term basis
- Excellent organizational, technical, communication and computer skills
- Ability to handle challenges and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills / positive attitude and ability to work in a team atmosphere is required
