Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting for a
Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Perth. T his is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team , supporting one of our existing key clients on a significant expansion project.
Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Kazakhstan.
Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be working directly within our clients systems, assessing inspection data, performing engineering assessments on piping and vessel defects and working closely with both the Client and Engineering Services team . To be successful in your role, you will have 2-5 years' experience within the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering or maintenance project environment exposure. Experience within offshore facilities would be preferred, however onshore experience is also acceptable.
Responsibilities - Focal point for Piping engineering within the clients corrosion defect register and internal asset integrity systems
- Focal point for review and assessment of Piping inspection data and recommend repair strategies
- Provide technical assistance to others as required

Skills / Qualifications Only candidates with full work rights for the Australian location will be considered. Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with a Mechanical Engineering degree and have:
- Experience as a Mechanical Engineer with 2 to 5 years in the Australian Oil & Gas sector
- Experience in an Offshore site environment with exposure to inspection campaigns
- Prior experience within the Oil & Gas industry is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise
