The Operations Engineering team is seeking a Process Engineer to provide engineering support to the Integrated Gas Canada gas processing asset, including well sites, pipelines, and facilities with dehydration and refrigeration systems within British Colombia and Alberta. As part of the team, you will support operations through troubleshooting, optimizing, and small project execution. The team is imminently on a growth journey with new wells, shifting to facility constraint production, and preparing for a major mode of operating shift to provide gas to LNG Canada. In this role, you will act as the primary process engineering focal for the operating assets in a team of operations engineers who collectively are responsible for technical deliverables both within operations and in the broader integrated gas organization.

There is flexibility for this role to be based in Calgary, AB or Fort St. John, BC or Grande Prairie, AB. There is also flexibility for this role to work a hybrid schedule with the ability to work remotely 2 days per week, and the other 3 days per week from a Shell office location. Travel to the asset or other Shell office locations is required about one week every two months.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide process engineering support to gas processing assets through troubleshooting and optimization
  • Support asset shift in ways of working from field constraint to plant constraint and identify plant debottlenecking or optimization opportunities
  • Integrate with projects and commercial teams to support new projects and prepare the asset to supply gas to LNGC in Kitimat
  • Manage assurance and development activities for Ensure Quality Production (EQP) & Green House Gas work processes
  • Provide process engineering inputs and coaching to asset projects, small changes, and to other technical disciplines

 


Requirements:

 

  • 8+ years' experience in a process engineering or similar surface support engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a preference in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience working in an operating asset, with gas processing and integrated LNG value chain experience being an asset
  • Technical proficiency in core process modelling tools such as Unisim/Hysys, Pipesim
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to be registered as a P.Eng in APEGA or EGBC is considered an asset
