Functional Engineering Manager EI&C, to join our Mining and Minerals team based in our Perth.

Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects globally, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals as well as Iron Ore projects.
Wood is seeking an
Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Discipline Engineering Manager to oversee the Australian Minerals & Metals Group. Your role will lead a large a team of professionals in the engineering and design space providing overall technical assurance of deliverables that range from studies through to detailed engineering and execution while ensuring organisational planning for the group occurs.
This opportunity will employ your embedded people leadership skills to build a collaborative working culture, where you will guide your team forward through our business strategy and projects whilst coaching them through their individual career/professional development goals.
In addition, as part of the engineering leadership group, you may act as a discipline subject matter expert to support and drive EIC engineering excellence across wider organisation.
Skills / Qualifications About You This opportunity is seeking a
Lead/Principal/Functional Manager (EIC) who is ready for their next career move, looking to join our Technical Engineering function in an integral leadership role.
Your breadth of experience in leading EIC in major/medium scale projects within minerals & Metals/Resources, in driving design and technical assurance will see you influence and develop a cohesive working culture amongst your team and the wider stakeholder group.
In addition, we are looking for the following attributes/skills.
- Bachelor of Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, ideally Chartered Electrical Engineer
- Experience in managing safety, risk and quality in their previous roles
- Prior experience as an Electrical Lead /Engineering Manager delivering medium to large scale project packages in mining, from studies through to execution
- Extensive career within engineering design of major scale processing facilities from conceptual engineering through to execution and delivery
- Exposure to leading medium sized teams, coaching & mentoring employees in their career goals and development areas
- Ability to build effective relations cross functionally and the wider stakeholder group internally and externally
- Driven to develop a business partnering culture, working collaboratively across our stakeholder group both locally and internationally
- Site based construction experience would be advantageous but not essential
Local is preferred, but open to supporting relocation from the international candidates.
