Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is hiring a Construction and Water Management Superintendent for our Carbon Creek Energy project located along the Powder River near Gillette WY. This position will lead project execution, assuring achievement of plan in terms of quality, time and budget in compliance with Wood's HSE and technical standards as well as established policies and procedures. #woodwyoming

Job Specifications:

  • Responsible for optimizing resources and looking after the profitability of the company and its clients;
  • Monitor water production and look for abnormalities to optimize production;
  • Identify SCADA, Water Meter and outfall problems/malfunctions;
  • Track repairs to ensure timely completion, containment of costs, and minimize lost production;
  • Maintain an electronic daily log to capture all critical events, occurrences and happenings (this log should be available to the Construction Manager at all times);
  • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of work carried out as well as ensuring the accuracy of execution reports;
  • Provide quality cost estimates, procedures, scheduling, reporting, tracking and oversight on assigned construction activities which are comprised predominantly of wellsite, piping network, facility flow process, new construction, repairs and modifications;
  • Track the progress of the project, reporting progress, concerns and recommended corrective actions promptly to the Construction Manager;
  • Act as the focal point for all construction related activities within the assigned assets;
  • Identify appropriate resources required to perform work and forward planning resources;
  • Identify increase or reduction in scope and relay the necessary support documents to Project Engineer for project control purposes;
  • Lead the execution of assigned projects, assuring that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with accordingly;
  • Assure asset integrity standards are maintained;
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with company and client standards along with current legislation and follows sound industry norms and practices;
  • Ensure all records and required documentation from the project (electronic and hard copies) are maintained and completed to auditable standards;
  • Liaise with operations and project team to analyze and solve execution problems;
  • Responsible to identify improvement opportunities that add value to the company and the client;
  • Complete housekeeping duties at the job site and company vehicle.




  • Act as a liaison between the field personnel and the management to present concerns and offer solutions to pending problems;
  • Promote a safe working culture and practices, techniques and use of tools and a high degree of HSE awareness;
  • Manage an effective team, including sub-contractors;
  • Develop and improve relationships between engineering, maintenance, operations and construction teams including sub-contractor departments;
  • Ensure contractor performance is in accordance with work schedule, specifications and all other requirements;
  • Lead, guide and support all team members in the execution of the assigned projects in an organized, effective and efficient manner;
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness to ensure all subordinates and subcontractors are aware of standards expected;
  • Report all injuries, occupational illnesses, material losses and environmental damage incidents;
  • Ensure safety in design processes is applied;
  • Ensure QA/QC engagement in Engineering, Procurement, Construction;
  • Complete necessary paperwork related to safety and work tasks;
  • Communicate with all employees and client personnel daily;
  • Complete the appraisals for the Construction staff;


Skills / Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have valid Driver's License and clean, clear driving record
  • Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain a CDL is required
  • 4 yrs experience in a supervisory position in maintenance and new construction ;
  • Proficient in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications;
  • Effective team builder, team leader and team player;
  • Able to delegate work assignments and give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities;
  • Knowledge of construction information systems and water information;
  • Knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and reliability concepts;
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize in a high performance, fast-paced work environment;
  • Seek ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness;
  • Ability to make decision in a timely manner and exhibit sound and accurate judgement;
  • Supervisory and management skills.
