Title
SR. ECONOMIC ANALYST (STRATEGIC INTELG)
Primary Purpose of Job
Responsible for the development and communication of insightful and actionable strategic intelligence for QatarEnergy. Utilises external and internal resources and data sources, conducting and coordinating original analysis, evaluating implications for QatarEnergy. Support the preparation of reports and presentations that provide input to strategy formulation, investment decision making, and energy sector modelling.
Education
University degree in a scientific, engineering, or economic/financial subject preferably at post-graduate level and/or with a relevant internationally recognised professional qualification.
Experience & Skills
• 10+ years of professional experience in an oil or gas company, process industry, consultancy/advisory company, or investment bank. • Sound understanding of the energy sector, key value drivers, and strategic issues across the broader energy sector. • Experience in strategic intelligence, preferably including energy transition topics, and experience in developing strategic insights to guide energy sector strategies. • Strong network of external energy sector contacts. Membership or / affiliation to recognized industry bodies is a plus. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build alignment across a diverse group of stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex concepts to key senior stakeholders in a confident and credible manner.
