The responsibilities of the Utility Locate Field Tech may include but are not limited to:
- Responding to Routine One-Call Utilities requests per State Guidelines
- Responding to Emergency One-Call Utilities requests during regular business hours and/or during non-business hours on an as needed basis
- Responding to Secondary Sweep requests
- Locating/mapping underground utilities and cross-country utilities owned/operated by ConocoPhillips per Utility Locate Lead guidelines
- Completion of all CoP assigned training in time frame allowed per COP requirements
- Attending monthly Contractor safety meetings and weekly team meetings in approved area
- Attending any training sessions as set forth by Utility Locate Lead
- Meeting with Customer on location when requested or as needed
- Providing clear communication to ensure clear directions and thorough utility locate process
- Completion of all required paperwork as determined by COP and/or the Utility Locate Lead
- Completion of all end of day/shift requirements as set forth by Utility Locate Lead
- Working within all the ConocoPhillips Guidelines (Health, Safety, Environmental)
- Reporting all Incidents, Near Misses, Hazard ID's to the Utility Locate Lead IMMEDIATELY per ConocoPhillips guidelines
- Performing work in adverse weather conditions and/or low light conditions
- Perform work on weekends/holidays on an as needed basis under the direction of the Utility Locate Lead
- Carry and answer ConocoPhillips assigned cell phone
- Be available to provide weekend call out duties for Emergency Response as needed/requested
- Assist with Delegation of Authority (DOA) roles/responsibilities as requested by Utility Locate Lead
Skills / Qualifications Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid North Dakota driver's license
- 3+ years' experience in the U.S. oil and Gas industry
- Be able to work in seasonal conditions
- Be able to locate underground utilities, sometimes walking several miles across suburban terrain
Preferred:
- A strong understanding of work discipline, Chain of Command and Teamwork
- Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and offer recommendations
- High standards in Safety, Environmental, and Leadership
- Certification in Underground Utility Locating and/or be able to complete Certification training as set forth by Utility Locate Lead
- Working knowledge of Utility Locating equipment
