Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our Perth team in our Minerals & Metals division.
Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution.
Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager for APAC, located in Perth, this role will see you responsible for ensuring the delivery and implementation of the commercial strategy for the business unit is in alignment of the M&M's business unit strategy alongside Woods policies and procedures, particularly in the delivery of commercial compliance requirements.
This roles focus will be supporting the business during the front-end negotiation and post award contract management across multiple projects, however, may solely be aligned to individual projects as per need basis.
This will require you to partner closely across the various internal/external stakeholder building a collaborative working relationship to jointly enhance project delivery whilst mitigating risk or exposure to Wood. Your business partnering approach will allow you to create a cohesive working relationship with your wider stakeholder group. This supporting key business requests, whilst balancing the understanding of immediate business needs and their alignment to the broader corporate policies.

This opportunity is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager or Lead, who has career working within the engineering consultancy and EPCM model, for major scale resource projects. This role will suit a Commercial Manager/Lead who is seeking an opportunity to bring their combined knowledge both in their profession and working in projects, into a key business partner role they can drive and influence best practice delivery within commercial compliance areas.

- University graduate qualification (or equivalent combination of higher education and experiences) in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline
- Post graduate qualification (eg. MBA) is desirable but not essential.
- Prior experience in similar like industry, exposed to major scale projects within the engineering sector.
- Experienced in driving collaboration between all key stakeholders, internal and external, building effective stakeholder relations.
- Ability to see and plan across a broad range of project activities, working with interchanging priorities.
- Experience working in agile, fast paced environments, able to identify changing requirements
