We are recruiting a Rotating Equipment Engineer for our client in Aberdeen.
This is an ongoing PAYE contract role.
The requirement is to have an experience specialist within the team concentrating on turbine and compressor drives within our North Sea Assets. Involved with regulatory compliance life cycle operability, trouble shooting and project site managing complex workscopes on our critical power generation and compressor equipment. Perform reliability analysis for the turbine's packages using surveillance techniques, trending performance.
Work Scope specific responsibilities
- As part of the team, assist with the trouble shooting for Turbine packages and Compressors skids across all North Sea Assets
- Whilst offshore on site, managing, coordinating major and project works, interfacing with platform crew and vendors. As part of the team input to control planned maintenance schedules
- Reporting to Principal Engineer on equipment for engineering/technical issues and works pre-planning.
- Support and analysis condition monitoring program on Turbines and Compressors
- Act as required, focal person with planned or breakdown maintenance with key vendors.
- With the Principal Engineer undertake technical investigations.
- Review first line maintenance and guide where necessary and recommend changes to our strategy.
- Undertake operational and technical investigations and provide additional support.
- Provide input into engineering design proposals, working with the Principal Engineer for Turbines and Compressors
- Help determine equipment critical spares being held by the platforms and assist in recommendations on stock levels.
- As part of the team, provide input for equipment operation/design improvements and modifications.
- As part of the team, provide input to incident investigations, MOC, HAZOP, and Root Clause findings.
- Review maintenance management system and recommend changes where appropriate to improve uptime.
DESIRED QUALITIES / QUALIFICATIONS
- Level 4 NVQ (HNC) Higher National Certificate or equivalent
- Previous experience of equipment reliability and optimization.
- Thorough understanding of dealing with the overhaul and operation of centrifugal gas compressors / turbines and other offshore capital plant.
- Understanding of offshore production and utility systems.
- Understanding and application to relevant Safety at Work requirements, 'industry safety management systems and safety case obligations.
- Previous and relevant offshore experience on fixed facilities.
- Practical experience and training with Gas Turbines and Compressor drives.
- Working knowledge of vibration analysis.
- Experience of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
