Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is searching for a CDL Truck Driver with air brake and manual transmission working in Fort Myers, FL.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

  • Class A CDL with manual transmission endorsement
  • Air brake endorsement
  • Ability to load and unload equipment
  • Manage oversize / overweight loads
  • Ability to complete electronic logs in compliance with the FMCSA
  • Ability to climb up and down off a trailer
  • Knowledge on how to operate a detachable neck equipment trailer
  • Must have load tie down experience using chains, boomers and straps
  • Must be able to perform pre and post trip inspections in accordance with the FMCSA
  • Able to climb in and out of the truck multiple times a day


Skills / Qualifications

  • Class A CDL with Air brakes and manual transmission
  • Load equipment and secure loads.
  • Use Electronic Log Book.
  • Time Management
  • Good Communication Skills
  • High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle.
  • Driving Requirements - Driving ability consistent with maintaining a clear driving
  • Reading Comprehension - Read and interpret road maps or driving directions. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Be able to judge distances and weights accurately. Ability to respond in an emergency.
