Overview / Responsibilities Wood is searching for a CDL Truck Driver with air brake and manual transmission working in Fort Myers, FL.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
- Class A CDL with manual transmission endorsement
- Air brake endorsement
- Ability to load and unload equipment
- Manage oversize / overweight loads
- Ability to complete electronic logs in compliance with the FMCSA
- Ability to climb up and down off a trailer
- Knowledge on how to operate a detachable neck equipment trailer
- Must have load tie down experience using chains, boomers and straps
- Must be able to perform pre and post trip inspections in accordance with the FMCSA
- Able to climb in and out of the truck multiple times a day
Skills / Qualifications - Class A CDL with Air brakes and manual transmission
- Load equipment and secure loads.
- Use Electronic Log Book.
- Time Management
- Good Communication Skills
- High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
- Minimum 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle.
- Driving Requirements - Driving ability consistent with maintaining a clear driving
- Reading Comprehension - Read and interpret road maps or driving directions. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Judgment and Decision Making - Be able to judge distances and weights accurately. Ability to respond in an emergency.
