Where you fit in

You will sit in the Center of Expertise for Gas Processing Technology (which includes CO2 Capture) that drives asset support, Conceptual designs, licensing support and technology development & deployment. The GMship includes a wide range of experts over the different areas of Gas Processing (e.g., solvent treating, adsorbents, sulphur, membranes, gas separation etc.).

The different teams are organized according to activity but work in an integrated way in natural teams to take maximum benefit from specific skills and availability. It plays a key role in driving down costs, advising and implementing best technologies; as SMART buyer and developing cost-effective solutions. In recent years, existing capabilities have been leveraged and further expanded to address carbon capture and energy transition challenges.

What's the role?

The Gas Processing Integration Engineer is involved in developing concepts for Gas Processing facilities, for both Shell and non-Shell (Licensing) opportunities, delivering the process design deliverables (Basic Design Package, Process Flow Diagram, Safeguarding Memorandum, Control Narrative, etc.) and providing proactive support through detailed engineering through to successful start-up. Increasingly this is focused on CO2 capture & conditioning, Blue/Green Hydrogen support and range of additional Energy Transition associated projects/processes.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Compliance to HSSE rules and process safety aspects, on-site and off-site (with high focus on non-Shell assets)
  • Technical Assurance - working closely with stakeholders across all business sectors
  • Feedback of lessons learned to customers (as well as) P&T stakeholders (specifically Licensing)
  • Enabling successful New Business Development by creating attractive value propositions and strong proposals (competitively)
  • Participation in HAZOP, SIL reviews, etc.
  • Be an active member of a cohesive and high-performing team - coaching of junior staff


What we need from you
  • BSc/MSc or PhD in technical discipline, coupled with genuine and continuous interest in technology
  • Relevant experience in Process Engineering design, service provision or plant operations engineering
  • Experience and knowledge in minimum of two of the following is required:
  • Sulphur technologies and handling
  • Gas treating technologies
  • Gas Processing, NGL extraction and fractionation technologies
  • Process Design and Process Safety experience
  • Deep understanding of interaction between the different plant unit operations
  • Experience with Project Delivery and/or Licensing delivery
  • Familiar with general process simulation (Unisim, ProMax, Aspen/Hysis, etc.)
  • Sound relationship management and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with wide variety of individuals in both office/plant locations with external and internal customers
