Delivery Project Manager

Petroplan are pleased to be working alongside an international solar technology manufacturer in Cambridge United Kingdom, who are seeking an experienced Delivery Project Manager.

The Delivery Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of customer projects internally and externally, ensuring that all project objectives are met on-time, within budget, and to the customer's satisfaction. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of project delivery, from pre-quote to project handover, and will act as the main point of contact between the customer and the internal project team post-sale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Project management and supply chain management and experience in managing cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create and manage the project plan (end to end), ensuring that all relevant information is included and handed over to the internal project team.
  • Create and maintain a risk registry, identifying risks, calculating the level of risk, and putting in place mitigation actions.
  • Create project roles and responsibilities for delivering projects (including design, training, installation support, and commissioning).
  • Plan and conduct project status update sessions with customers, resolving queries and reviewing all aspects of the project.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to compile the cost and lead times for equipment.
  • Finalize project pricing and payment terms, ensuring that all required equipment is included and the scope of supply is clear.
  • Manage project documentation including creating and maintaining the customer handover folder, manuals, procedures, schedules and/or logs for resources on-site, customer training and shipping.
  • Send regular status updates to all stakeholders, internal and external, throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that they are kept informed of progress, and any issues are addressed.
  • Manage resources both onsite and offsite, including identifying technical and commercial resources needed and getting approval from the Head of Commercial Operations, as well as coordinating travel for CE employees as required.
  • Plan and coordinate installations with customer stakeholders including tooling requirements, installation sequencing and other pre-execution work.
  • Own and manage orders end to end:
    • Ensure timely creation and release of orders in the ERP
    • Ensure all ordered items are released and all costs, cost groups, and incoterms are added in the ERP
    • Coordinate invoicing
    • Verify that orders, quotes and contracts match (equipment, price, lead time)
    • Ensure confirmation of payment is received
    • Manage the coordination of the procurement, production, and shipping of orders
    • Ensure production and shipping schedules align with customer requirements
    • Review delivery addresses and details to ensure accurate delivery
    • Notify customers when the shipment is completed
  • ERP Improvement
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
    • Collaborate with the CE team to improve procurement and inventory management processes


Complementary responsibilities and support tasks

  • Work closely with the sales team during the pre-quote stage to ensure that all necessary information is gathered, including signing NDAs, requesting project data, providing budget estimates, and getting agreements signed off.
  • In collaboration with the sales team understand and summarize the customer objectives, ensuring that they are addressed throughout the project lifecycle, and put in place actions to address any objectives.


Internal and external relationships

This role will require extensive interaction between all internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or project management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project or supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects in the renewable energy, construction or technology industries.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and tools (MS Dynamics an advantage)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as MS Projects, Kanban.
  • 10% travel to project sites as required.
