What will you be doing?

The Logistics Intern will work closely with the Logistics Project Leader, PSI Leader, Uber Freight and the Beaumont Logistics Manger to efficiently build intercompany loads. They will analyze and evaluate SAP plant orders based on demand to create trucking schedules. from collect, generate and analyze data of key trends and interdependencies between operational metrics. They will analyze, develop and execute network optimization opportunities and projects to deliver process improvements/efficiencies based on inventory. The Inventory Analyst will also drive initiatives to align, coordinate and balance inventory and fulfilment activities for the Beaumont Plant. This role will work closely with the Operations and Shipping/Receiving teams to understand material movement at the plant level. Focusing on the Beaumont Plant, this role will create systems to achieve overall business goals. This position is a great fit for an ambitious, creative, curious team player with great communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop an optimum warehousing/distribution model to drive the most efficient flow of materials and products at a value cost,
  • Actively participate in developing a long-term strategy for Veolia WTS logistics to deliver world-class logistics driving optimization, standardization, and overall efficiency
  • Partner with the key stakeholders, including OTR, manufacturing, commercial teams (sales & service) and PSI, driving continuous improvement ensuring on-time, complete and compliant deliveries to our customers.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting to Organizational Leadership.
  • Work cross functionally with Beaumont and the global project team analyzing plant product demand and load building
  • Understanding the DMAIC process utilizing Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma Tools I.e. Spaghetti Diagrams, Waste Walks, Five Whys, Value Stream Map, and SIPOC.
  • Create and support business cases for improvement projects for the Beaumont site.


Essential Qualifications & Skills:

 

 

  • Industrial Engineering or Operations Management background
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Google, Tableau and SAP
