Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Vendor Coordinator with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, to join their Commissioning team in Ingleside, TX and able to transition to Offshore phase.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The focal point for the execution of the projects commissioning and start-up vendor coordination activities and scope. Supervise and lead the coordination of all vendor materials, documentation and services activities to a successful completion and injury free project.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: K een safety awareness and advo cacy; multi-discipline team leadership, planning and coordination of work within a simultaneous operations environment, liaising with equipment engineers, equipment vendors, construction personne l and operations team members. Responsible for securing and tracking materials and material inspections.

CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for und erstanding and executing W ood's Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all phases of the project. Personal safety awareness and team safety awareness are necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Controller of the onshore and offshore vendor coordination activities.
  • Act as a point of contact and liaison for vendors in the project and maintain contact with them.
  • Work with the Commissioning Manager to establish vendor requirements and scope and follow the vendor management plan.
  • Assist in preparation and participate in regular, recurring vendor coordination meetings.
  • Coach/train vendors on current requirements, processes, and procedures when deficiencies are identified.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and status. Includes documenting status in SOR.
  • Monitor incoming emails and phone calls from vendors and internal staff with goal of first time resolution or routing/escalating to appropriate person for resolution.
  • Manage risk in accordance with company governance requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct supervision and other departments.
  • Other duties may be assigned or requested.

 


Skills / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with complex problem solving ability. Excellent communication skills and team oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations Teams. A detailed working knowledge of offshore oil and gas processing facilities and deepwater facilities is required including:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Strong Oil and Gas materials and equipment technical knowledge

Multiple material tracking software and databases.

Permit to Work Systems in SIMOPS setting.

Candidate must be able to manage direct reports in the coordination of work.

Occupational hazards and standard safety procedures.

Project management skills; cost, time and project scope

Report writing and records maintenance

Education and Experience:

Proven background, typically 10 years minimum in onshore and/or offshore O il & G as Construction and C ompletion activities in a materials manager or vendor coordinator role, preferably with Commissioning experience . Pro ven s upervisory experien ce in a m aterials manager role . Proficient written and oral English language communication skills. Strong computer skills and Microsoft Access database experience is preferred.
