Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently seeking a Lead Estimator to join their Mining & Mineral Division in Brisbane for a full time permanent role.
Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this global vision. Currently our APAC team has a portfolio of projects within the rare earth, manganese and other battery metals commodities that are both local and international.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager in Perth, working closely with the leadership team in QLD, this role sits within the studies team and will see you responsible for the development of project estimates across key phases from DFS, PFS and scoping studies this may see you be focal point for multiple projects.
You will work closely with the wider studies team who are based in Perth, being a key integral focal point for our Brisbane division. This will require to lead delivery of key estimation requirements, noted above driving best practice and implementing opportunities for continuous improvements, working closely with the wider Queensland leadership group.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator who has built a successful career working within the minerals & metals sector/resources sector, with balanced experience in the EPCM environment delivering in a multi-disciplinary capacity.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator who has built a successful career working within the minerals & metals sector/resources sector, with balanced experience in the EPCM environment delivering in a multi-disciplinary capacity.
In addition, we are seeking the following attributes/skills.
- Prior experience in working within an engineering consultancy/EPCM leading estimation within medium to major scale Greenfields and brownfields projects.
- Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management, in conjunction with key project management principals.
- Ability to work autonomously, whilst building collaborative and cohesive working relationships.
- Prior relative experience working within studies, from conceptual to preliminary phases,
- Ability to work in an agile, ever changing environment, leading delivery of your projects and estimation requirements within the Brisbane office
