Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover Southeast Queensland across multiple locations, assisting Seqwater to provide water for more than three million people.

As the Health Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Partner on this project, your role will be to promote and lead a positive and collaborative approach with Seqwater's design and construction partners, while working with the project team to support the safe and successful delivery of the project.

At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

Working closely with the Principle HSEQ and the Maintenance Coordinator, key responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with leaders and employees to provide support and advice in accordance with Seqwater's Work Health and Safety policies and procedures, legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Supporting the consistent application of the relevant provisions of the project Health and Safety Management Systems and WHS Management Plans by Delivery Partners
  • Scheduling, facilitating, and managing health and safety assurance & compliance activities
  • Undertaking project Critical Control verifications and other safety related verification activities
  • Monitoring the effective implementation of Seqwater's WHS Management Plans and Seqwater's safety performance expectations
  • Supporting investigations and resolving any HSEQ issues or complaints raised.
  • Directing/reviewing incident investigations, hazard identification and audit and inspection activities to ensure improved business outcomes and mitigation of risk
  • Effectively leading communication, consultation, and participation activities with all stakeholders.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues and strategies
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, codes of practice & Standards through a Safety Management System
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of high-risk construction activities and working with Principal Contractors
  • Proven experience working collaboratively with Construction contractors on large value projects (would be advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and safety audits
  • Formal training in Incident Investigation (e.g., ICAM or TapRoot) and Lead Auditor in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (desirable)
  • Familiarity with contemporary Occupational toxicology and hygiene practices
  • Experience with Traffic Management (desired).

Qualifications
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications (desirable AQF 5 or higher)
  • 'C' Class driver's license
  • White Card.
