Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Advisor with extensive experience in the Energy or Petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will provide O&M subject matter expertise as part of our Operational Readiness advisory services. This may range from discrete scopes of work, to providing guidance throughout a full program of work from beginning to end; and would typically include tasks such as client and stakeholder engagement, program scope definition and planning, organizational development, and operational philosophy/strategy development.

The candidate should be a highly experienced Operations professional with a track record of leading and managing Operations and of providing strategic advisory to complex capital project development. Has proven subject matter expertise in Facility Operations within the Energy Industry and able to communicate and engage confidently at all levels within an organization. This role is open to candidates looking to work on hybrid, or a part-time basis, with occasional travel to our client offices in the Americas region as required.

 

  • Provide strategic Operations and Operational Readiness advisory services to a range of industrial clients engaged in major capital projects
  • Develop high quality deliverables relating to facility operations, maintenance, and organizational development
  • Provide operations requirements for design and assist in resolving design/operation differences with the design engineering team
  • Represent OR in Project HSE Studies & Reviews e.g. participate in HAZOPs/HAZIDs, model reviews and audits
  • Carry out assessments and definition of O&M management systems
  • Carry out organization (staffing) assessments in preparation for Operations
  • Carry out detailed program risk assessments and develop risk management plans
  • Carry out stakeholder analysis and develop stakeholder management plans
  • Support OPEX and Reliability Modeling activities as the Operations SME
  • Support the Business Development process through client presentations and input to proposals
  • Support the development of OR Program Management Plan and Scope of Work documents
  • Lead and mentor Operations Advisory practitioners in the delivery of services

 


Skills / Qualifications

  • Highly Experienced in Facility Operations, Maintenance, and Operational Readiness requirements
  • Previous experience in supporting capital projects
  • Degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical or Process) or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Operational Management Systems and the regulatory environment for process industries
  • Deep understanding of how Operations integrates with other functions to deliver short- and long-term business objectives
  • Minimum 25 years energy industry experience , either in Production Operations or Maintenance
  • Results orientated and focused on the execution of predefined objectives
  • Experienced in the leadership and management of skilled workers/subject matter experts
  • Experienced in change management, preferably in the Energy sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable strength in communication
  • Ability to produce reports and technical procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
