Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently sourcing for an Equipment Operator to join our team in Jal. New Mexico. You will be required to s afely operate a variety of equipment while on the worksite. You will be working outdoor and in extreme temperatures. You will perform routine maintenance and regular inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order. This position involves sitting for long periods, outdoor work and exposure to a variety of temperatures and weather elements.

U.S. Only: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Skills / Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all company and site-specific safety rules
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Listen and communicate effectively and respectfully
  • Work as a part of a team, under the direction of a foreman and/or general foreman
  • Maintain motivation to work safely and productively
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, understanding and following specifications and drawings
  • Plan work and select proper equipment and machinery for the task
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of each piece of equipment
  • Work with spotters to ensure safe equipment operation in tight spaces, congested areas or in any place where risks or hazards may be elevated
  • Monitors site and weather conditions, adjusting plans as conditions change
  • Identifies hazards and obstructions (powerlines, etc)
  • Able to safely maneuver equipment in congested areas, utilizing a spotter
  • Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of equipment
  • Knowledge of components, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, etc
  • Report and record and issues found on pre-inspection, ensuring that all machinery is deemed safe prior to operation
  • Perform other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The drive to produce quality work every time
  • Ability to work 55-60 hours a week on a regular basis
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
