Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Instrument Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The role will be part of our Aberdeen Engineering Hub. This is a multi-client and multi-discipline engineering and design team. This vacancy is primarily to support an upcoming FEED study on a Flare Gas Recovery project for a major oil & gas operator in the North Sea. The role is an excellent opportunity to be involved in decarbonisation projects. The FEED study will run for 6 months before moving into detail design. The project will be run out of our Aberdeen office however remote/hybrid working will be considered.
Detailed services to be provided
• Provide Instrument Engineering Expertise
• Provide input to development of studies
• Define instrument requirements for technical scopes related to various modifications
• Originating, checking and approval of Instrument engineering & design deliverables
• Provide support to HAZOPs/HAZID's and other technical reviews as required
• Provide support to the Lead Instrument Engineer and the contract delivery team
• Provide technical expertise to the contract
• Resolve instrument related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
• Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of instrument designs
• Provide support for interdiscipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
• Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement
• Utilise software tools in design development and checking as required
• Prepare instrument input to estimates for modifications
• Liaise with function personnel to achieve cost and schedule targets,
• Review and report progress to meet deadlines
Skills / Qualifications
MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent.
