Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Pensions Administrator, responsible for all aspects of pensions administration - both Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC). Reporting to the Pension Administration Manager, the role involves day to day pensions administration activities as well as oversight of a range of pension projects.
This is a key role within the team supporting the smooth running of the schemes, in line with Service Level Agreements and quality levels.
- Responsible for checking and peer reviewing all aspects of DB and DC Pensions administration for accuracy including (but not limited to);
- Early/Normal and Late retirement quotations, divorce quotations, ensuring payments are processed, DB and DC leavers, death benefit calculations, signing off routine correspondence, transfers in and out, monthly contribution audit, liaising with third parties and resolving queries from schemes members.
- Involvement in a range of pension projects including the production of benefit statements, year-end reconciliations, valuations and pension increases
- Create and maintain close working relationships with members and colleagues and provide assistance to third party providers
- Servicing of the Pensions Mailbox providing support to all members and external parties
- Supervisory responsibilities for administration team, including delegation and monitoring of work, mentoring and training
- Pension administration of cases with complex benefit structure
- Review/check existing processes and recommend improvements as required.
Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Previous experience of administering Defined Benefits, Defined Contribution in house or within TPA
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Pensions legislation and procedures
- Previous supervisory experience and experience of checking pension calculations for accuracy
- Proven ability to collate and analyse data, and to resolve queries or complaints from scheme members independently
- Previous experience of producing reports and developing procedures to improve efficiency levels

- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
- Good Communication skills, in dealing with pension scheme members
