Wood is currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineering Student to work in our St. John's office on large scale brownfield offshore energy projects.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Providing technical support to the Piping, Mechanical, Process, Materials and Technical Safety Engineering Teams
- Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met
- Liaison with third party contractors and vendors in the procurement of materials and equipment
- Operate in a multidiscipline environment to complete projects for our clients
- Adhering to all HSEQ requirements in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
- Originating documentation including but not limited to design drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, supplier document register lists (SDRL's), and reports
- Completion of Bill of Materials for the procurement of material and services
- Population of engineering database deliverables for project Closeouts
Skills / Qualifications
- Enrolled in a post-secondary Engineering Degree Program
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English
- Ability to interact with Multidiscipline personnel in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Subcontractors and Client representatives on project-related topics
- Strong safety orientation
- Team focused attitude
- Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook
